Coaching Session With Alfie Wylie a Success! Alfie Wylie and Alison Nicholl from the Northern Ireland National Team Program visited the Newmarket Soccer Club over the Easter holidays. Alfie conducted a presentation to the Newmarket Rep coaches on female football in the Irish Football Association then on Good Friday worked with the York Region district boys teams and put on a very good 2.5 hour on field session working on age related ball work and small sided games.  Over 140 coaches enjoyed the free clinic. Alison Nichol the U17 asst. coach for the National Team worked with the Newmarket O.Y.S.L Team on Saturday morning putting the players through a typical session that she would run with the Irish National team players. Both Alfie and Alison made a very good impression on all the players and coaches involved and the Newmarket Soccer Club hopes to work with them both again in the near future. Congratulations to Shelby Rolling who has been invited to train in the National Training Centre. Shelby who plays for the O.Y.S.L. U17 Newmarket team was invited in to the training centre late last year, but due to a broken wrist was unable to attend. She has recovered from her injury and has worked very hard to regain her fitness. She returned to the N.T.C.O late February and has proved to the National Staff that she can compete at the National Level. Well Done Shelby we are all very proud of you!
