Referee Assignment

Returning Referees Ontario Soccer Registration

All returning referees must register with the Ontario Soccer if they are planning to referee this year. This applies to all referees not taking a clinic this year. Our RefCentre assigning system will not allow you to be assigned games if you're not registered with the OSA. There is a discount for registrations prior to March 31st.

As members of the YRSA, NSC referees are strongly encouraged to keep in touch with their website. Fees and rules for YRSA rep games are posted there, as well as a library of referee education session materials. Click here to access their website.

For Outdoor Games

We use the same RefCentre system that referees use to register with the Ontario Soccer. Keep your availability settings up to date at least a month in advance. Do not restrict your settings as we have various house league and rep-level matches to assign.

For Indoor Games

We use the same PowerUp Sports system that our players and coaches use to register with the NSC. Keep your availability settings up to date at least a month in advance. To be accepted into our pool of referees, complete the application form ("Volunteer Now") at newmarketsoccer.powerupsports.com. Once your PowerUp application is approved by the NSC, you will be able to set-up your availability and begin receiving match assignments. Do not restrict your availability too much as there are far fewer matches taking place on fewer days of the week during the indoor season.
